Having much discussed about how to achieve good meditation today we will discuss basic concept related to practical experience that beginners generally feel or which is the starting of meditation & spirituality.
“As we stated in earlier discussions meditation can be achieved only by being effortless & rest position with witness condition of soul, also ashtavakra used word ADHUNAIV “a dhunai v = right here right now”. That means it can happen right here right now.
In starting experiences you will find that meditation achieved very easily as you are free from expectations & demands because you have no idea what & how the meditation is…?”, so your mind has nothing to judge due to not having any past experiences. But as time goes & when you have meditated more number of times, there is a chance of rising of an expectation like “Meditation should be experienced on this way, it should be experienced on that way…”, so again comparisons starts about past & current experience so as a result you will find that is hard to have meditation.
The thing that is to be learnt from this example is, due to judgment / comparisons about past experiences with present main condition of meditation which we have stated earlier has been broken (viz, rest condition of mind, body & soul), so whenever you do meditation forget about all past experience, that will make your mind free & pure to achieve meditation with ease.
Another effect that beginners may feel:
While having meditation or after meditation you may even feel reasonless happiness within you, don’t be scared it’s not madness actually it is an effect of having right meditation.
You may even think that weather reasonless happiness is result of madness..???
Answer is- it’s not madness at all until & unless your happiness is harming or annoying anybody. Madness is when you happiness leads to make sad to other.
Overall while meditating just go with the natural flow, just be free from every judgment & don’t take your mind with you because where mind comes there is always a chance of expectation, as our mind is not ready to accept that there can be happiness without any reason, actually it is the mind that force to think you that reason less happiness is a sign of madness.
Moreover where mind start working there again rise feeling of “I am – subject” and as we discussed earlier until subject disappears and witness (object) feel appears there can’t be meditation, there can’t be spirituality. Witness is “feeling that your soul is experiencing something like reason less happiness and you are just observing it…” it may be hard to understand but this is the best possible way to emulate how beginners feel about meditation. As we know meditation is the subject of silence or not having any explanations.
Enough done with hard words, Let me give some simple example of meditation, in its simplest form meditation is the thing that easily relates you to happiness, which is truth & which leads you to freedom & far away from physical world.
- Consider a singer, we may have seen that a singer is keep singing and is so much concentrated that he has no idea where he is he just keep singing with all of his best feels and enjoys that feeling no matter whether others are listening to it or not. This is the simple example of meditation. (that’s why artists are considers as mad or psychos)
- Consider a carpenter or a mechanic who is involved so much in his work that he forgets about time & foods to be taken. Again this is the example of meditation with ease.
These are the meditators but doing meditation unknowingly & without special efforts, they are getting driven through natural force rising inside.
So at its preliminary level, meditation (spirituality) is truth, is enriches soul & gives you happiness without any specific reason. That’s why almighty is given name as
“SACHHIDANAND – SAT (truth) + CHID / CHIT (soul) + ANAND (happiness)”
In conclusion of this part, meditation is simply the experience that gives you happiness without any reason or without any special efforts. Sometimes happiness can be found even after losing power, position or wealth, because happiness that comes by these things is not eternal.
